What to Expect on the First Appointment
At Home - Before coming to the Office.

- Fill out general infomation
- Dress in loose fitting cloths if possible
- Bring a list of your present medications - for convience we can copy
- Bring your insurance infomation and card
- We accept: cash, visa, debit, check, and other credit cards
- The First visit is about 60-90 minutes. Following treatments are between 45-60 minutes.
Upon Arrival at the Office
- Greeted by staff
- Fill out General Information Forms

- Taken back to treatment room
- Review forms and signatures
- Blood pressure taken
Meeting with Doctor - Intake and Exam
- Discuss general health and past medical history
- Discuss your major reason for being seen
- Palpable Exam if applicable
- Inspection of the tongue - particular to doctors of Oriental Medicine - Diagnostic method
- Palpation of both radial pulses - particular to doctors of Oriental Medicine
- Discussion of diagnosis and prognosis
- Discussion of treatment plan
Treatment Period
- You will lay down on a treatment table with pillows - comfort is important
- The doctor will palpate very specific areas, and then insert one needle at a time with your comfort in mind.
- After all needles are inserted, the needles shall remain in for approximately 20 minutes, during which time, the lights will be lowered, background music can be played, and the doctor will leave.
- During the 20 minute needle retention, you will be given a doorbell switch to ring if you need assisstence.
- After approximately 20 minutes, the doctor will return to remove the needles, awnser any questions, and then leave so you can get dressed, if applicable.
Leaving the Office
- Pay at the desk - Pay with: Cash - Debit - Visa - MC - Discover -Check - American Express
- Reschedule at the front desk according to treatment plan
General Questions
Does acupuncture hurt?
- First, the needles are very fine and very thin, they do not cut a hole in your skin.
- If any pain is felt, it feels like a small prick, and that is felt only for a split second.
- Generally speaking, acupuncture is a painless treatment.
